Mission San Xavier del Bac

The Silver & Turquoise Ball currently supports the restoration of San Xavier Mission through the non-profit Patronato San Xavier. A National Historic Landmark, the church is widely considered to be the finest example of Spanish Colonial architecture in the United States. The Patronato has been watching over the restoration, conservation and preservation of this Arizona jewel since 1978.

We are proud to have donated over $800,000 to the San Xavier Mission.

San Xavier Mission is one of more than twenty missions founded by 17th century Jesuit missionary and explorer Fr. Eusebio Kino.  A cultural and historic treasure, the church is filled with marvelous original statuary and mural paintings.  The present church, built by Franciscans beginning in 1783, continues as an active Catholic parish while remaining open daily.

It is a place of serenity and reflection where visitors can truly step back in time and enter an authentic 18th-century space.

As one of the largest donors, The Silver & Turquoise Board of Hostesses is proud to partner with the Patronato in the continuing preservation of this community icon that has captured the imagination and deep affection of so many people for generations.
